Sweet Home

This house was only 10 years old, foundations were good, but material used too cheap or simple to reveal the true potential of the space. The owners wanted to create a home that reflects their personality and lay-back easiness. The idea was to optimise natural light by using lots of white and adding some colors here and there. Organic materials were also important to form a timeless interior in which you feel at home as soon as you get through the front door.  The wall between the kitchen and the dining room was removed to create one open space for the whole entertainment area. Adding a Bio-Ethanol chimney to the living room increased the cosiness factor on cold winter evenings. The whole space feels airy because very few, well researched pieces of furniture were used. There for a huge timber cupboard was designed to store the tableware and the wine collection.

Wellness was the keyword of the bathroom. The simple layout as the contrast used (dark grey and white) were part of that design. Traditionally made Zelliges from Fez in Morocco and plants add green touches to this serene room. The other pop of color is cleverly added by the coral bath linen.

The master bedroom is a calm and relaxing space where the contrast between the walls and the furniture eases even the busiest mind. The American shutters add a little exotic touch to the room.

The exterior entertainment area also received a makeover by drastically increasing the deck. The shed was totally sanded and paint to better match the lovely outdoor.
