When we went to the Island of the Gods last year, we had no clue of what was about to happen. If you would have told me then that we would have a collection of homeware, I would have laughed real hard. But somehow along the way, it just happened.
While cruising on a scooter (first time ever on a scooter) throughout the fabulous Balinese country land, we fell in love with the culture and the way of life. We would just stop along a road to talk with rice field workers. Or go in a workshop for watching a man carving wood.
Suddenly we knew, we wanted to bring home some of the beautiful interior pieces we’d seen. One night, we booked a container and went shopping the next day. We felt like little kids doing something crazy, but that was so us. It’s such a nice feeling to do something with so much joy and enthusiasm !
First we thought, let’s just bring home a few pretty handmade lamps. But then we added some fabulous lounge chairs and thought mmm, what about some huge planters to use as eye catcher in our home? While connecting with the artisans, we continued adding all things we fell in love with to our shopping list. The process of getting to know each and every artisan was such an amazing experience. They were happy to not only share their passion for what they created but also their passion about life.
Some time went by for the items to arrive and for us to get organized so we would be ready for you. But it is done !
