The statue is hand carved out of sandstone on the island of Sumba in Indonesia. It is also known as “House God” or “Gatekeeper” as it is believed it provides protection and healing to the occupants of a home if placed close to the entrance of the house. You can display this statue alone or in a cluster (see our other variants of Sumba statues).

As each one is an artisanal, hand craved statue, they are all unique, no 2 statues are exactly the same. They can slightly vary in size, colors and carving.
